Cookies
There is no banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to. Here is why.
The short version
This site sets no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies. That is why you were not asked to accept anything: a consent banner exists to obtain permission for cookies that are not strictly necessary, and we do not set any.
What a cookie is
A small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on your next request. It is the usual way a site recognizes a returning browser, which is what makes it useful for tracking and what makes it regulated.
What this site actually uses
Two things, both strictly necessary:
- Our hosting provider may set a cookie needed to serve and secure the site — routing a request correctly, or absorbing an attack. It carries no profile and is not used to recognize you across sites.
- The anti-spam challenge on the inquiry form is served by Cloudflare and may set a strictly necessary cookie in order to run and validate the challenge. It exists to tell a person from a script and is not used for advertising or tracking.
How we measure traffic without cookies
Our audience and performance measurement is cookieless and stores nothing on your device. To avoid counting one visit as several, our host derives a temporary value from your IP address and browser string; it is discarded daily, cannot be reversed back into either, and is never used to build a profile or to follow you elsewhere. The privacy notice describes exactly what is reported.
If that ever changes
If we add a feature that needs a non-essential cookie, it would fall into one of these categories, and we would ask for consent before setting it and update this page:
- Essential — required for the site to function or to stay secure. No consent required.
- Analytics — to understand how the site is used. Consent required.
- Functional — to remember a preference you set. Consent required.
Managing cookies
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, and blocking them on this site will not stop you reading it. Blocking the anti-spam challenge may stop the inquiry form from submitting; if that happens, email us directly instead.
We honour Global Privacy Control. Since we do not sell or share personal data for advertising, there is nothing for it to switch off, but we respect it regardless.
