Services

Three services. An engineer who answers.

The unglamorous half of IT, done properly: the backups rehearsed, the devices managed, and an engineer who answers when it breaks.

What it costs

The prices we can publish, published.

Website builds and care plans are the lines Computing America can put a number on, so we publish it rather than asking you to call and find out. Each one says where its figure comes from. Everything else is quoted against your scope, because the thing that moves the number is how much of it there is.

Managed support Help Desk
$150 – $250 per user, per monthMeasured against published market rates, not set by us.
Managed protection Backups & Protection
$75 – $150 per device, per monthMeasured against published market rates, not set by us.

Whichever service the work turns out to be, it runs under one of four commercial structures. We’ll recommend the smallest one that fits, on the first call.

How we structure engagements

Scope

What this division does, and where it stops.

Running the IT your company works on day to day, and being the number that gets called when it stops.

Custom Software
We run and support systems. Building one that does not exist yet (an application shaped to your process rather than a product you configure) is the software division.
Hardware & Instrumentation
We own the general-purpose estate: laptops, workstations, the network they sit on, the accounts behind them. Sensors, actuators and controllers that are part of custom hardware are the hardware division.
Cybersecurity
Patching, protection and tested backups are operational hygiene and they are ours. Security testing and phishing training are a separate practice with separate people, and buying them as an add-on to a support contract is how they end up being neither.

Next step

Not sure which of these you need?

Most people arrive with a symptom rather than a service name. Tell us what keeps going wrong and we’ll tell you which of these it is, or that you don’t need us for it.

Reply
A person replies, not a sequence: within one business day, from someone who would be on the engagement.
