Book the sampling visit

What date would suit you for the visit?

A sampler comes out on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9am and 1pm. Give the first date that suits you. If that day is full, we will offer you the next one.

For example, 12 5 2026.

Important: Do not run any tap for 6 hours before the visit. The sampler takes the first water out of the pipe, and running a tap washes away what we need to test.

Tuesdays and Thursdays do not work for me

Put in the closest date that does work and add a note when we ring you to confirm. Wealdshire samples 40 supplies a year and can usually move a visit.

If nobody can be at the property, ring the water team on 01634 960 118. A neighbour can hold a spare set and let the sampler in for you.

Design notes

Shape of the page
One question at a time, with Back always available, a task list for the spine and a check-your-answers page before anything is sent.
What it leads with
Sentences. The only figures are the fee, the date and the head count, and each one reads as a sentence rather than as a cell in a table.
Spacing
The GOV.UK defaults, unchanged: large text, a narrow column, and the generous spacing a service used under pressure needs.
The one bold decision
No script on the page at all. Every step is a real form submission and the errors come back with the page, so the service works on a slow connection, an old phone, or a browser with scripting switched off.
Where the colour comes from
Every colour, type size and spacing step is the GOV.UK Design System's own published set, taken from the system rather than sampled by eye.
Readability, measured
Body text on white, 19.59:1. White on the green button, 5.35:1. Error text, 5.16:1. Black on the yellow focus highlight, 14.54:1. Higher is easier to read, and 4.5 is the accessibility floor.
One theme
GOV.UK publishes a light theme only, so light is what ships. A dark theme here would mean inventing values rather than measuring them.
What we changed
The system publishes no colour for a button, so the buttons take the green from its palette. And because all four screens sit on one page here, three of them carry a second-level heading where a real service would give each its own.
